Louis Hughes as a Slave
This was an interesting man. I founf it interesting that McGee began to teach him about different medicines. I’ve always thought that slaveowners would only use slaves for the means of labor. This piece of writing was especially interesting because it revealed the slave’s observations during the Civil War from behind Confederate states.
Again, these narratives have the same theme of escape. The physical and emotional escape is hard, and may be discouraging.
