This project is a lot more organized than I suspected. So far my group is doing a good job. It is hard work and can be frusterating using the plotbot or trying to communicate with others.

trojan war

one thing I hate about all this is the family connections and the names. It is really hard to follow who did what. My question is, why this story exist. These sources helped me understand more about what happened, but it is still hard to follow.
One thing interesting bout the Odessey is that it is one of the worst books to read and interpret, but it is a great story to listen to.
(something irrevelent) what are these crazy things on top of this box for writing the post?
first semester

The only frusterating thing about this semester in the blogging. Nothing severe has never happened with my blog, however, this is not the most stable blog sight. I’ve had situations where my blog will not show up, or only half of my blog post will show up. Also, I have been behind on my blogging because I have not read the assignment sheet. Other than that, this semester has been very interesting. I’ve learned new ways on how to analyse novels. For example, after we read Huck Finn, I learned how to look for satire. When I first read this book, I was not even looking for satire, but only looking for the adventure which I found out that it was not really physical, but emotional.
For the second semester, I hope to find new ways on ho to approach novels.

It is easy to see that everyone face it. When we look back in our own time, we have been a racist. I found this article interesting even though it was not really a “news article” It did focus on many countries.
SATIRE 3

What was interesting about Sacha Baron Cohen’s interview was that he admits being satirical to show how people react. In Borat, he managed to show people’s true characters. ( how stupid we are.) I never really liked Cohen, but after he portrayed himself in this film, I’m beginning to think he’s an amazing person.
Louis Hughes as a Slave

This was an interesting man. I founf it interesting that McGee began to teach him about different medicines. I’ve always thought that slaveowners would only use slaves for the means of labor. This piece of writing was especially interesting because it revealed the slave’s observations during the Civil War from behind Confederate states.
Again, these narratives have the same theme of escape. The physical and emotional escape is hard, and may be discouraging.
Annie L. Burton

Burton was born in to slavery in the early 1850’s. Her life was very interesting when she was growing up during the Civil War. She was living around the time of the emancipation. It was interesting to see how she took responsibilities of a bad situation. For example, she cared for her younger siblingsafter the death of their mother. Another thing that was interesting about this narrative was when shetook classes at a school. In this school, the headmaster encouraged each student to write their life story. This is what got Annie L. Burton to write her auto biography.
Burton seemed like she had more or a positive and optomistic tone that the other writers. Her childhood on the plantation seemed pretty bad, however she seemed to be one of the lucky ones. As I read this article, it was very interesting to see how the emancipation impacted the lives of these people.
I wonder why an essay about Lincoln, some poems at the end of this narrative.
Issac Mason as a Slave
December 22nd, 2006 by nwsander in Uncategorized · No Comments
What was interesting to me was how some slaves still had a lot of confidence and the slave owners never completely destroyed the slaves. Some had the hope and desire of escape. This ties in well with Huck Finn. Mason’s narritive and Twain’s Huck Finn has the same theme of escape.
I found it interesting when Mason wrote that said he was ignorent. Slaves then resented the work so much that some started to get physical over it. When Mason pushed his owner down, he never thought to himself how much trouble he may face. He goes from one place to another trying to be a free man in an animalistic society.
Before Reading the Narratives

I expect to read things simular to Douglass writing. It is interesting to learn the psychology of slaves, and what sort of emotional ans physical obstacles they had to face
Satire 2

What was onteresting about Colbertwas that he was always sarcastic. He said he wanted a draft, but he contrives himself and get a point across that he doesn’t want a draft. If he wanted a draft, he would have said more positive things about it as opposed to mock it. This was certainly not a laugh out loud type comedy, and it would make some people uneasy (which is the point of satire). He makes people look like they are politically stupid to possibly think that there should be a draft to Iraq…
